DEMOCRACY: GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES
In this unit, students will explain and describe what it means to live in a democratic nation and how such descriptions may vary from nation to nation and culture to culture. We will:
-Identify and describe signposts/characteristics of democracies-
-Evaluate (using signposts) our U.S. democracy-
-Evaluate other democracies around the globe, noting how democratic systems vary-
-Conduct research using online resources like Freeom House, Carter Center, and Democracy Web-
-Analyze and report on democracy-realted protests and world events (current events)-
